AD(H)D Coaching
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Attention Deficit Disorder(ADD)coaching is similar to other types of coaching. It focuses on the condition of attention deficit and the daily inefficiencies that ADD/ADHD presents, then increases the person’s opportunities for success. Coaching can involve the patient, their parents, spouse, teachers and tutors. When appropriate, I believe it is important that everyone in a significant relationship with the patient understand how to best support the individual’s overall success.
My coaching helps my patients understand how their ADD/ADHD brain works. Once they truly know how their brain works, they can develop methods, personal to their life and situation, which enable them to sustain their focus and concentration. ADD/ADHD coaching can help students become more efficient with studying, athletes be more fluid in their natural abilities, parents be more attentive listeners and business owners be more successful.
I Offer Three Levels Of ADD and ADHD Coaching Sessions:
Evaluation Program: This series of coaching sessions is designed to help individuals learn and implement specific techniques to compensate for their ADD/ADHD deficits. Coaching is done in six 45-minute sessions or four 1-hour sessions. If the patient is a child, the parent is included in the first and last part of each session to solidify the techniques and plan for the following session.
Extended Program: This series of coaching sessions is designed to coordinate with school or work strategies. Coaching sessions can include the patient and family members. If the patient is a child, I can also collaborate with teachers to help them understand how to work with the patient more effectively. This coaching program is done in eight 45-minute sessions or six 1-hour sessions.
Comprehensive Program: This series of coaching sessions is designed for students or working people who need to adjust to a new school or workplace. It incorporates the features of the extended program and includes recommendations for accommodations in the school or workplace. For example, the student might be provided additional time for tests or assisted technology to help with concentration.
