About

My dr-free-mill-valley-adhdown experience with ADHD is all too common. I have struggled with a lack of focus, concentration and memory all my life. I was able to successfully cope with my inattention in high school by putting in long hours of study. Then, in college, I hit a wall. No amount of studying would help. For the first time, I believed that I was going to fail academically.

I sought help from a physician. He prescribed a medication that had a calming affect on my hyperactivity. With the assistance of medication and my own compensating techniques, I learned how to sustain my attention, be more organized and study more efficiently. I subsequently realized my dream of becoming a physician.

I Can Diagnose And Treat Any Psychological Issue

After completing medical school, I extended my medical education to study adult and childhood psychiatry. As a result, I am able to diagnose and treat a wide range of psychological issues, including anxiety, depression and bipolar disorder. Some of my patients have been told that they have Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) or Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) when they, in fact, do not. Unfortunately, I have seen ADD/ADHD misdiagnosed and medication prescribed with negative consequences.

My medical training, education and experience enable me to evaluate a wide range of behaviors and determine a person’s true condition. The first step toward successful treatment is always an accurate evaluation.

How My Own Struggle with ADHD Helps My Patients

I am a physician with ADHD. I am also a father of three children with ADHD. I have a son who is a successful physician, a second son who is a Certified Financial Analyst, and a daughter who is a college student. What I have learned in my own struggle with ADHD and working with my children is that it is possible for every individual with the condition to compensate for their attention deficit. Once they truly understand how their ADD/ADHD brain works, they can develop personalized methods that enable them to sustain their focus and concentration.

My work today centers around empowering individuals with ADD and ADHD to be successful and happy in their life endeavors. My Center for Attention in Mill Valley strives to help children, adolescents and adults understand the ADD/ADHD condition and develop responsive solutions to their ongoing challenges. My fundamental belief is that every single person with ADD or ADHD, with the right information and coaching, can find their path away from struggling with their condition toward a lifetime of personal fulfillment.
