Lauren – An Adult
Lauren is currently twenty-eight and was just promoted to head the Northwest/Pacific region for her sales company. She wasn’t always so successful! When I first met her in the fall of 2008, things were very different. She desperately sought my help when she became overwhelmed by her college courses and was forced to withdraw.
Through ADHD medication treatment and monthly coaching meetings, Lauren turned her life around. She learned methods for sustaining her focus and concentration that served her well, both in college and in the work world. She began to see how her skill of intuition was an asset to herself and everyone around her, appreciated by both her bosses and major clients.
Life is a challenging endeavor. For the person with ADHD it can become “the perfect storm” with either the feeling of being overwhelmed and “crazy”, or “gifted” with amazing creativity and intuition. For Lauren, like many people with ADHD, her solution was found in understanding her cognitive challenges and proactively moving toward a mindful and balanced life.
Following is how Lauren described her situation and how she benefitted from our dynamic relationship and the nature of our work: “Six years ago I came out of a fog, where shame and confusion were at the forefront. I was twenty-two years old when Dr. Freed guided me to the realization that I was not crazy, but rather, gifted! It was a moment of clarity that initiated a sense of power and confidence within me. This drive, previously inconceivable, continues to build & grow. It helps me surpass every hurdle. I call him “Dr. Free,” because his treatment turned a new and wonderful page in my life.”
