Jeffry – An Attorney
Jeffry is a brilliant litigator, with an uncanny ability to sense the possibilities and a strong determination to bring them to fruition. When he came to me for help, he had already been a practicing attorney for seven years. His success was limited, however, by his lack of organizational and time management skills. He often lost important documents, did not return important phone calls and was late in getting work completed for his clients.
Jeffry had previously paid $5000 to a professional organizer to help him. Unfortunately, as with many ADHD individuals, “the sense of order” of things needed to be his own. How everything was organized in his office needed to reflect his brain’s natural order so that he could more intuitively navigate using his own structure.
Jeffry’s situation is typical for many ADHD individuals. As a college student, Jeffry was the guy with “good enough grades” who didn’t take notes and relied on his ability to add in the details by cramming for exams. In law school, when he had to learn note taking and cram most of the time, he developed creative strategies to survive and pass the bar. As a professional, however, he hit a wall when he couldn’t manage his time effectively and find information when he needed it.
With the help of my coaching, Jeffry found his own way to organize his office according to his “natural preferences.”He could locate the information he needed, and he developed methods to prioritize and complete his work in a timely manner. As a result, he has significantly improved his client relationships and has become the fully successful attorney he was striving to be.
